Urban Harvest

Urban Harvest is a hands-on guide to growing food in small urban spaces. This issue harnessed the international movement of urbanites wanting to connect with the soil and grow their food. It covered a wide range of growing methods, from hydroponics indoors to innovative outdoor growing walls and small-space design. It included a comprehensive ‘how-to’ guide on everything from establishing inner-city food forests to foraging, collecting rainwater, creating composts, and then recipes for using the resulting produce.

Each chapter opener was concept-driven and created by Yolanta and designer Milla Novak using New Zealand seeds and foliage that related to the individual themes. The use of white space to add contrast to each chapter and fun graphic elements visually enriched this publication. The concept helped to make the dream an easy-to-achieve reality.
