Sustainability Through the Seasons

This special edition takes a 360-degree approach to the subjects of interest to young urbanites, specialising in sustainability, small living, upcycling, repurposing, minimalism and avoiding plastic. The design had to strongly reflect these values. This is the sister publication to the previous annual (Living Lightly), and while it was important to attract the same audience, it needed its own personality.

A colour palette was chosen for each season, and the illustrations were commissioned to match and reflect that season. After searching the world of illustrators, a husband-and-wife team in Vietnam had the look Yolanta was after. She sketched the elements required and got the four seasonal introductory pages illustrated by these artists. It was a successful collaboration and shows how her directing skills achieved this value-for-money work of a high quality.
